Lynn Webster, President & Founder

Lynn Webster

About Lynn

Lynn Hogan Webster is a native of West View and the founder of WVCA. Her family roots in the area date back to the 1900s, when her Great Uncle, John Muzzio, served as one of the first council members on West View Council. Her cousin, sports promoter Paul Muzzio, was the original owner of the West View Sandlot football team, as well as a local basketball team. (Photos of these teams still hang in the Isaly’s in West View.) Lynn’s Great Uncle John Siterly and his family helped to established St. Lukes Lutheran Church on Center Avenue. Another great uncle owned various properties on Beechmont and Oakwood Avenues, along with a nationally known haberdasher shop located in the iconic former Jenkins Arcade in Pittsburgh.

After graduating from North Hills High School, Lynn moved to Los Angeles, California to attend Glendale College. She served as the administrator for Cherokee Medical Management in Los Angeles for 10 years. Lynn relocated back to the Pittsburgh area (McCandless Township) in 1994 and founded Pittsburgh Senior News in order to serve the older adult population.

Her publishing company has steadily grown in popularity over the past 30 years, successfully publishing Pittsburgh Senior News, Beaver County Senior News, the Allegheny County Senior Resource Guide (in cooperation with Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging) and the Beaver County Senior Resource Guide (in cooperation with Beaver County Office on Aging). With a total combined reach of 140,000 with all 4 publications, Pittsburgh Senior News and its sister papers/guides are the most widely read publications in the Pittsburgh metro area for adults ages 55 and older. Seniors and their caregivers turn to these publications as trusted sources of information and referral.

In 2018, after the death of her beloved husband of 30 years, Wally, Lynn returned to West View and began giving back to the community through gardening projects, donating services to West View events, being a judge at the Halloween parade, hosting a street block party in her neighborhood, and assisting with the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Community Center Health and Wellness Fair. Her love of community building through leadership eventually led her to form the nonprofit West View Community Association.
